Foul Play: UNM Female Soccer Player

There is no place for that crap in competition. That's just being a Sadist.

We had a guy like that on our HS Football team. One game when I came off the field, an underclassman came to me and told me he saw a senior lineman with a coathanger. I went up behind him and saw him show it to some other ne'er do well. I made him give it to me and told him we'll discuss it after the game.

Myself and the whole offensive line took him into a corner and explained that if he ever tried something like that again, we'ld beat him bloody, then give him to our Head Coach Jim Acree. (a Major Badass)

He agreed and asked us just to beat him twice instead of giving him to Acree. We made no promises.

5 years later I read in the paper where he took a bullet to the head. I guess he never learned his boundaries.

Some people have to learn the hard way....

The sad thing is....our boys are 5-6!! This jerk is already teaching his kids to play dirty. Makes me sick.....we try to teach them to play fair and this ass comes along and confuses the crap out of our kids.

i saw a player intentionally fouled from behind on a breakaway just outside the penalty area at the MIdland Soccer Association Turkey Shoot Out Tournament. he went flying head over a-h. the foul was called but no card was shown. should have been a red. but they are just kids right? anyway the little guy dusted himself off and put it in the net.

referees are entirely too lax at this age and this kind of play carries through to all levels of soccer.

Our goalie has been kicked in the head twice this year and not once was a yellow, red or foul been called.

On the other hand there is a ref that doesn't like one of our players and every time she tries to make a play he calls fouls on her (Which limits her ability to play the game)

There are also refs reffing that don't even know simple rules like off-sides, it is heart wrenching to have to watch athletes get screwed over by idiot refs.



We were playing a Lubbock team a couple of weeks ago when some of their parents started yelling and calling my girl names during the game, (Fortunately I didn't hear it) I teach my girls to not engage in any verbal talk with other players or parents, just smile, wink and walk away.

what you say is too true and too sad.

you and i are in different soccer worlds. you are in club soccer and i am still following recreational soccer. we are both experiencing similar circumstances, "a dearth of qualified referees and assistant referees who officiate according to the laws of football/soccer." Of course the referees at your club level are being paid a lot more than at the recreational level, but it is so pathetic when the referees at the recreational level are getting paid anything for their level of incompetency. i understand many of them are just teenagers but they do get paid for officiating the youth matches. they should know the rules and adhere to them so the young players learn proper conduct on the pitch. too many of them behave like they would rather be anywhere but refereeing the match.

coaches, usually parent volunteers, are no better than the referees, seeming to not only condone but to promote poor conduct on the pitch. too many time i have seen blatant fouls with no foul call by the referee and no action taken by the coach. were i the coach i would take the player out of the match so fast it would make his head spin.
