    Another Rash Of Armed Burglaries

Midland police are also dealing with some robberies from last night. The first happened at the Domino's pizza on Illinois and Midkiff, when a person walked in with a pistol and threatened one of the employees.

Another robbery happened at Conventry Pointe Apartments on West Wadley. Police say a man walked up to a person in the parking lot and demanded cash.

Then the last reported robbery happened on Mogford when a man was unloading his groceries. The crook walked up to him and demanded money. The suspect even fired a gunshot into the ground when the man couldn't hear him.

It's not clear if this was the same crook or if the crimes are completely unrelated since they all happened in less than an hour.

For my birthday, my brother bought me some pepper spray. I try to carry it with me wherever I go, but think I need to put it in my pocket instead of my purse.

If there is no unemployment in Midland but petty crime is up...how come I can't get anyone to respond to my help wanted ad for yard work. Isn't it just a little more risky to attempt to rob a plain old working person and maybe walk away with a few bucks or nothing?

Heck, it must be easier to attempt to rob someone and spend time in the new tent correctional center, then it is to do just plain old fashion work for your income. The little store by me has been robbed six times so far this year and some really supid stuff has been taken as no real money is readily available.

Heck, I've had my own locked car broken into and they got nothing; however, I've had to live with lots of broken glass that just keeps croping up through numerous cleanings.

What's really going on in Midland? I have a feeling that the newspaper and the City Fathers are just not willing to let the common folk in on the real issues. It just might spoil Midland's image, maybe.

Anyone really know what's going on in this small area of TX? If so, please let us common folks know.

Armed Burglaries? Uh shouldn't that be Armed Robberies?
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.– C. S. Lewis
