Post Scouts' time capsule yields 1985 artifacts

It probably shouldn't be easy to dig up 25 years of history, and Monday night outside the Boy Scouts' Buffalo Trail Council headquarters it was a tough task but in the end a satisfying one.

It'd be nice if the reporter had told us what the hell was in the capsule other than "artifacts."

"Artifacts" and 1985 seem to be quite a split in my mind. I guess my William "The Refrigerator" Perry mug from back then is now officially an "artifact".

It was mostly boy scout guide books. I thought it was going to be really cool, but is was was little Timmys bear book from when he was a scout. Everything I saw come out, was addressed to a specific indiviual. So we didn't get to see anything good.

And it was freezing. When my boys realized Dad hadn't put anything in they were ready to split. I need to take their old books to be placed in the new one to be opened in another 25 years.

If 1985 is the measure of an "artifact," then my old Hanes may qualify. Maybe some 18-year old Girl Scouts could look into that.

They did, and hot cocoa, and cobbler and icecream. And it was all good. Especially since I knew the scout serving the cobbler.

And UHM have you turned into Eury? And probably so.

DON'T JERK ME AROUND, JINXIE!! IT'S A SIMPLE QUESTION. A BABY COULD ANSWER IT: IF YOU WERE A HOT DOG AND YOU WERE STARVING, WOULD YOU EAT YOURSELF?

I don't know, but if you find a bag containing something green and leafy stuffed inside your old teddy bear - don't inhale. Nacho Doritos get stale and moldy after awhile.

Oh, you made a wise choice, my friend! If you had said no, I would have bitten your ear off! I would have come at you like a tornado made of arms and teeth. And - and fingernails.

FWIW Bobby Williams was an Assistant Scoutmaster in the troop I was in back in the day.
