Since I've instigated in my sleep with my wife and had no recollection afterwords, I wouldn't dismiss the idea if the daughters had the same story. Hey, some people sleep walk, some carry on conversations. I've even heard of people cooking in their sleep. Its not unheard of. You can read up on sexsomnia.

I read up on sexsomnia, and I still don't buy that Lot wouldn't realize he is having sex his daughters. Sorry, Lot, if I were on your jury you would be screwed.

Much to learn from Lot. Sure the Bible calls him a righteous man, but does not hide what he would become that he tolerated the sin surrounding his family. He was more concerned with placating the men of Sodom than protecting his family from their perversions, and no doubt they were very influenced by the culture around them, so much so that his daughters would willingly and proactively get pregnant through incest with their father. The bible doesn't say much about his daughters or Lot after this, because the shame and failure of Lot is obvious. I think Lot's judgement and punishment is plain to see. His life destroyed. His wealth and position in society burned up. His family wrecked and his offspring shamed. Desolation.

Lesson for the PCUSA? Like Lot, they are more concerned with being hospitable to the culture than standing up for what is right. No longer able to influence the culture they are altered by it.

We all want progress, but if you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.

The bible doesn't hide peoples flaws. But acts don't make a man righteous. You are not righteous based on what you do. You can't earn your way into heaven. The bible tells us 'faith is credited as righteousness' (Romans 4:5). Lot was a sinner, just like me and you.
