my bedroom is underground. At about 7:40 today i was awoken with this wierd, deep, pulsating sound. I couldn't hear it above ground. But beneath the ground, in my room, it was almost piercing. Not my ears, but my actual body.
Once I heard about the earthquake, i figured out what it was that caused the sound. It lasted about2 minutes or so.
According to the USGS there was another one @ 1:36pm today 2.5 mag....aftershock?

Something woke me up about then and the window above my bed rattled for a few seconds. A heavy truck can do that sometimes when it hits one of the bumps at the nearby intersections, but it was eerily quiet outside. A reminder that although the Permian Basin is relatively geologically stable now, it always wasn't so. Float around on the mantle for 4 billion years or so continually bouncing into things like a billiard ball and you tend to gather old scars and wrinkles.

There were a total of 4 earthquakes today in the same area.
Wonder when Obama is gonna show up down here to survey the damage??
If you voted for Obama in 2008 to prove you're not a racist...vote for someone else in 2012 to prove you're not an idiot
Last night around 9:45 or so i heard that noise again. Thought to myself, "Maybe what i heard earlier wasn't the Earthquake". Then i found out about the one we had around 9:30 last night.
So now i know: when i hear that noise there was an earthquake somewhere nearby.
Being a California girl, I can assure you that what you felt was not a trick, I HATE EARTHQUAKES!!!
