The problem with servers like that are monty hall drops and those who usually run the server have gear others cant get

That is so true with the majority of servers i've seen out there.
    Nothing Vanilla WOW about them.

With the exception of instant 49 the owner seems to be a real stickler for keeping things original WOW.
It's only been up for a few months though.

So far as I know there aren't any made-up items & raiding is hard like original without an increased drop rate of epics.

However, recipies, and DE fodder drops like candy due to the low population of the server.

I've been on it a week but i'm having a heck of a lot more fun than I do on cata.
On retail I only really play if my real life friends are on to join me.

I must say, im glad the rogue is viable again. Ive been PvPing alot lately and it seems to be as balanced as I ever remember. Blood DKs were nuts for awhile along with ferals. I like some of the changes coming down the line. I think the ability to go from cat to bear with heals inbetween is still OP. Good ferals are still unbeatable. Even in just bear form the self heals are nuts.

I can see needing 3 people to drop a healer. It shouldnt be that way with a DPS class.

My rogue can't even do heroics yet. I retired him for PVP in wrath and switched to my pink pig-tailed lock
Havn't been in PVP since the end of wrath though.

Locks are fun, you damn rogues, LOL! Demo is my only spec where I stand a chance if you stealth up on me.
If i'm affliction I might as well be a mage. You guys cut me up.

rogue's on this vanilla server just hang out at flight paths ganking people.
    But, that's horde for ya.

It doesnt matter the spec for a lock. Essentially, if they dont get a few demons proc'ing with doom, theyre dead. I eat mages pretty well too, but that is because of escape artist. That one additional snare removal is the different between dead frosty and dead gnome.

For a while though, frosty's beat me. I rolled one to learn what theyre doing. Anytime I have difficulty beating a class, I roll it, play it, and learn what theyre doing.

I have Frosty the Gnomeman. His name is.... LOL Winterbolt

No hint there on my spec

I don't even use a PVP set for my lock. She does just fine with her badge stuff.

I used to roll a PVP mutilate build in arena during BC. HOLY HELL! my gear sucked & I was choping anything but plate up before they knew what was going on.

Though shadowstep was amazing when stealthed. i'd just wait until someone was low on mana or health & then HELLO! LOL!

I'm not great at stun-locking someone though.

Maybe i'll get a LW to craft me up the better PVP set or just buy it and hit the BG's for some fun.

I'm rolling frost for the vanilla server. We can take a punch. So I can see how a frost mage would give some problems.

Stun lock is gone for rogues. Our stuns share DRs now.

Now, you have to use position, energy management, and recuperate. I pick on full health metal heads all the time and win.

I always hated stun lockers to me there wasn't much skil to just keep poping my 3 or 4 talents to keep someone from doing anything while I slaughter them.

I like it when they run, turn & get at least a shot off before my poisons got them.

but it looks like a lot has changed.
Like I said when wrath came out it sucked to be a rogue.
I walked into AV & Pallies were one-shotting me.
I switched to my DK for a while & that was fun.

Now I want to take a look at PVP on my rogue again that your mentioning all this.

Rogue has always been my fave class, specifically, the subtlety rogue. I dont change my spec. I also have prot paly, resto druid, frost mage, ele shammy all 85 fully pvp geared.

Im a firm believer in playing as many different styles to learn how to be best at my rogue. For instance. After playing an Ele Shammy, Ive learned how to troll them. When I am in AB or EotS, and I see one coming, I stand near the edge to get them to blow their Tstorm. I shadow step back to them and they cant get away from me anymore. Easy kill.

I usually try to learn the power mechanism in a classes game. For rogues, its the blind. For warriors, its the heroic leap/charge, etc. I save my outs for that moment.

Lock used to be my favorite PVP class but I'm playing a shadow priest on the PVP vanilla WOW server.
I'm learning an equally or slightly more geared horde warrior who gets the drop on me needs help to get me down.

His health bar drops faster thna my mana bar & i'm still at full health.

So many sheilds, insta fear, dots, a nuke, then even more tools against casters.
    I'm starting to like it.
May roll one on retail & just BG him to 85.

Level 19 enhance shammy was my twink. He wasn't even all that geared but with a two-hander he hit like a truck.

rogue PVP set is gonna cost me about 4k (which I got) but i'm cheap. LOL!
